You peasants! Just give us your money and stop being involved! By: The Spearfish Speakeasy

Wow, what a fiery manifesto!

Wow, what a performance!

Reading this, one might almost think the local GOP in Lawrence County, and around the state for that matter, is being threatened by an insurrection of ungrateful peasants rising against their benevolent overlord.

Overlord? Maybe…but we are far from being the insurrectionists.

The level of self-importance here is truly something to behold—bravo! It’s always refreshing to see someone so passionately dedicated to unity by… calling everyone they disagree with “buffoons” and “clowns.” That’s definitely the way to build bridges and inspire collaboration—kudos on the strategy.

The name calling we have refrained from unleashing on all of you is a mile long…you deserve it, and yet we refrain. I called Mary Fitzgerald a coward once and you would have though I started WW3. You establishment types are the epitome of hypocrisy.

But seriously, let’s pump the brakes for a moment!

Let’s get real for a moment!

This post is less about the good of the party and more about bruised egos and maintaining a grip on power. We’ve currently got three fresh faces showing interest in Chairing the State GOP and you all are losing your minds because it’s all about POWER for you. We’ve got a small Army of NEW fresh, smart, patriotic, strong, motivated, dedicated, engaged and GOOD people in Lawrence County who want to be involved. Who the hell are you to judge and belittle them? If you’re truly concerned about “loyalty” and the mission of the GOP, maybe ditch the theatrical name-calling and address the actual issues. Or is the goal simply to make everyone else sound small to make yourself feel big? (Pro tip: That’s not leadership—that’s narcissism in action.)

If the goal is to make a coherent case for leadership and rally support, this isn’t it. Tossing around insults and dramatic accusations like “a curse on their lot” might feel cathartic, but it comes across more like an audition for a reality TV show or maybe an infomercial where you sell out our state and dirty our elections by promoting PMBs that contribute to election fraud, than a serious political statement.

Also, your definition of “loyalty” seems to boil down to blind obedience, and that’s not how a party—or concepts of freedom and liberty—works. Disagreement isn’t disloyalty; it’s how we grow, refine ideas, and get stronger. Maybe instead of flinging insults at these so-called “rebels,” you could ask why they feel so disillusioned with the current leadership. Spoiler alert: It’s not because they woke up one day and decided to be “clowns.”

Have you noticed the state of affairs with both parties right now? Thune just failed to get Gaetz across the finish line…and NOBODY who is tracking on just how swampy Thune is, is surprised by this. If you weren’t so far up Mary’s ass you’d maybe pause for a second and reflect on how she treats people…and maybe some reflection on her voting record would help too. There’s a CLEAR reason more people support Scott Odenbach.

If you’re serious about uniting the party, try leading with humility, substance, and vision—not curses, tantrums, and condescension. You might also refrain from shitty hit pieces on young lovely families who want to serve their county, as well as refrain from trapsing around Spearfish spreading lies about a nice lady who ran as in Independent and would have voted better than the one we elected here because she has an “R” behind her name. But hey, if self-righteous rants are more your style, don’t let me stop you—you’re clearly thriving in that lane.

Here’s a thought: If there’s an issue with leadership or loyalty, and newsflash, there most certainly is based on the ass whooping the establishment took during the primary election, wouldn’t it be more effective to address it with specifics and, you know, maybe a little maturity? Screaming into the void of the DWC blog about “lunatics” doesn’t magically solve problems or win anyone over—it just alienates people who might otherwise be willing to listen.

And while we’re at it, let’s not pretend the GOP’s sole mission is to march in lockstep behind whoever’s in charge. Healthy disagreement and debate have always been cornerstones of a strong party. If these so-called “rebels” feel compelled to challenge leadership, maybe—just maybe—it’s worth considering why they’re doing it instead of branding them as heretics.

I think you already know what is driving people to take back their government and time will tell if we see any meaningful change, justice and accountability.

In short, throwing tantrums is fun and all, but wouldn’t it be more productive to channel that energy into actual solutions?

Just a thought since that’s what you hypocrites tell us.

And for the record it was a group of private citizens who supported that nice Independent lady who you slandered around town. This is still America and we still have a choice.

Hope your day gets better, Temple Dog.

Oh and for defeated Senator Erin Tobin, who is also crying about leadership:

May be an image of text that says 'Erin Tobin says: ٥ November 20, 2024 at 7:23 pm When did we lose "We the People"? I am tired of secret meetings. Set up debates. Organized chaos. Lies. Let us become a party that people can respect. Who could lead us in a way that we can be a respected party? It will take humility and courage. Something my time in politics. It does exist. Reply haven't seen many possess during'

We are already well on our way to choosing leaders who will restore respect to the party, who will respect the voice of the people, will respect our constitution and party platform…

Their names are Jon Hansen, Scott Odenbach, Karla Lems, Bethany Soye, Tina Mullally, Tony Randolph, Aaron Aylward, Travis Ismay, Jana Hunt, Sam Marty, Taffy Howard, Tesa Schwans, Brandei Schaefbauer, Mykala Voita …

…and will at some point include names like Justin and Karen McNeal…who will at some point inspire more patriotic hard working South Dakotans to help take back their government and change life for the better.
